And, it's official.

NaNa2010

So I verified my word count last night at 51,883 (I think that was the number- I'm too lazy to go back and check). I'm pretty sure that of my three years participating in NaNoWriMo, this is my lowest word count ever. I pretty much quit writing after I hit the 50,000 mark, which is bad because I still have eleven chapters left before the book is actually finished. I hit that 50K mark back on Nov. 16th, too, which makes my lack of progress since then even worse.

I can see the ending, I know most of what's supposed to happen from now until then, but I just can't motivate myself to write it.

Blargh.

What I really need is some device that can download the plot from my brain to my computer. And by "device" I mean something other than my fingers. Too slow-going. But then, if I didn't have to hammer everything out bit by bit, there would be pieces missing. So many little things get incorporated in the writing process, so I really should be grateful for those hours upon hours of staring at a computer screen while I force myself to type out scenes that no longer captivate me.

I am at that paradox of both loving and hating what I do at the same time. That can mean only one thing: time to eat some leftover pie.

Happy day-after-Thanksgiving!

I hope you enjoyed the pie.
*Crack* Now get back to work.
Just kidding. I wish there was a device like that, too.
